Is it safe to drink decaf coffee while pregnant?

I haven’t had one sip of coffee since finding out i was pregnant. Im in my fifth month rn and am craving some starbucks but id ask for decaf.. is that safe??

Awkward i work in a coffee shop and have one normal coffee a day! Lol i then switch to decaff..  to hard to resist when i smell it all day 😂😂

I’m also not having any caffeine during my pregnancy (also no chocolate or green tea) and I have decaf coffee every once in a while. You should be proud of yourself! Letting go of caffeine addiction is not easy (at least it wasn’t always easy for me ;) )

Honestly, I have one cup of regular coffee everyday (sometimes 2 if I’m really tired). I did the same thing with my first pregnancy after the first trimester and everything was totally fine. 🤷‍♀️ Decaf is fine.

I drank a cup of coffee a day with my third it was a massive craving, if I couldn’t get decaf regular it was I hated coffee before my third couldn’t even stand the smell than I became a barista thanks to her lol

A qualified yes...the decaffeination process uses a lot of chemicals. Best to stick to organic decaf if you’re going to drink it, or only have it in moderation.

You can have regular coffee too! Just no more than a 12 oz cup a day (around 200mg, 309 max is what i was told). You’re fine!

It’s safe to have up to 200mg of caffeine anyways so you’re good.
