Questions about HPV??

Okay.. when I was younger( 18) I made stupid mistakes and had unprotected sex with a few people, I got tested for STDs and I was always clean( thank god). Then I grew up and I never have sex without a condom anymore or for the last 5 years. Just recently I started to get the HPV vaccines because my family wasn’t aware when I was younger as I figured it was pointless now.. Last year (21) I got my first Pap smear and it was normal. So I decided to get the vaccines. But I’m continually stressing that my next Pap smear is going to be ab normal. I feel like there’s no way I could’ve had unprotected sex with a few people, and never contracted hpv given how common it is.. is it possible my body cleared the infection? Can the body clear multiple strains if I came in contact with a few of them? Will you always contract it if the sexual partner is infected? I’m so worried

Congrats on getting your health together. I got hpv and i was a virgin who lost it to one person. There are several strains of hpv. The one thats most dangerous is the one that causes cervical cancer which can be detected and is the purpose of the pap smear. (I had the kind that the body self purges and could take 6mnths-2yrs) Ive been clean ever since and get paps almost every year. The other kinds cause visible warts etc. Ig you doing your women wellness pap then i think you are headed in the right direction.
    From one women to another i do encourage you to understand that even using condoms is still risky.  Sex is risky business no matter how fun or pleasure filled its made to appear. They dont tell you there are more stds than the main ones they test you for.., and some can take years to show up. Not trying to scare you but encourage you to always ask yaself is he/she worth the risk.

At your age they dont test for HPV, a normal pap smear does not mean you're negative for HPV. 
They dont start testing for hpv till 30.
Condoms also do not protect you from hpv or hsv(which hsv is not included in standard std testing).
There are over 200 strains of HPV and 40 of them are sexually transmitted. 
With a pap smear they are looking for abnormal cells, when they actually test you for HPV they are only testing for high risk HPV and not low risk. 
The vaccine does not protect you from all sexually transmitted strains of HPV either and the vaccine only last 5-10 years
