wine while pregnant?

I’ve read many articles about being pregnant and drinking wine. My hubby and I are going on a weekend get away to relax and spend time together. i’ll be 21 weeks when we go on vacation and was wondering if drinking a half of glass of wine would be okay?

Lol you’ll be fine. I don’t know why other women on here are acting like you’re asking if shooting up heroin will harm your baby or something. Just half a glass of wine y’all. Chill the hell out.

My obgyn doctor for the last 20 years Who is incredibly old fashioned and cautious says that a glass of red wine a day (meaning a small 8 ounce pour or less) is absolutely fine and beneficial. Of course it’s different for everyone but anytime you’re hesitant call your doctor

I highly recommend the book Expecting Better. She goes over the data for all of the draconian recommendations for pregnant women. It’s amazing to me that people want to shame someone for having half a glass of wine - likely the same people who eat Cheetos and cake throughout the entire pregnancy and get zero exercise. Just saying consider the source.

There is a lot of conflicting evidence on this one so you won’t get a straight answer. For me personally, it is a small amount but just not worth the potential risk. 
Not the same but you can buy some non alcoholic wine coolers etc just to feel like you are enjoying a glass 🍷

Girl, all these people saying “Why would you risk it”. I never ever in my life heard of a baby being born with FAS or having any complications because a mom had a single glass of wine. Ever. You will be absolutely fine. If you already went on vacation, I hope you had a good time and relaxed and didn’t worry too much.

I had like 1/4 glass on New Years when I was pregnant with my first. Dr said it was fine (saw dr just the week before) 
I learned I don’t like wine ahaha

You definitely can! however it’s not recommended, in fact no amount of alcohol is considered safe in pregnancy or breastfeeding, however people still do it, so if you’re comfortable with the risks then do it.
