Drinking while pregnant?

Question

Today at work. I was with my partner serving a party of 40 for a baby shower. And the mom to be ordered the two for one strawberry daiquiri. Asked my manager if it was okay for us to server her an alcoholic drink and he said that we could and couldn't deny what the costumer wants. This lady had 6 of those plus one some of this other alcoholic drink. How do you lady's feel about that.? I'm 8weeks and I just couldn't bare to go near her cause I couldn't believe she could be drinking while pregnant.

Unbelievably irresponsible. I want my baby so bad I'm even avoiding caffeine as much as possible. I know u can have a bit of caffeine but after two miscarriages I'm not taking chances on anything, let alone alcohol! Hello fetal alcohol syndrome. Some people... SMH.

I know being in the UK a lot of people not only smoked but drank throughout their entire pregnancy.
I know towards the end of your pregnancy you're allowed to have like 2 glasses of wine but to each their own.

I'm only worried about me and mine.
I've had a soda now and then but definitely  no alcohol and no smoking either.

The way I look at it its 40 weeks ... Well 36 really because you're basically 4 weeks into it when you get a positive result ... 
So 36 weeks of having some will power and self control so that you know you did everything you could to prevent your child from having a LIFETIME of issues. 
Don't get me wrong, I have had moments when 6 strawberry daquaries would really do the trick 😉 but I can wait it out another 10 weeks until baby boy arrives!! 💙

I spoke with my doctor. I'm healthy and my pregnancy is low risk. I'm 21 weeks along. She said if I want to enjoy 1 to 2 glasses of wine a week, it's completely fine. But this sounds like this lady was going way overboard and putting her baby at a big risk. The main danger with alcohol is drinking a lot at once. Maybe she never got that memo.

My doctor told me a glass of red wine a week after the first trimester is fine. I can't personally bring myself to drink but if it were something like that I wouldn't be concerned. But 6 in one sitting? That's how babies develope FAS. So sad.

Yeah, anything that shows on the label that I can't eat or drink while pregnant I don't even risk it cause I care about my baby's life and health. I honestly felt bad and I just hope the baby doesn't get any thing or grow up with drinker of a mom.

Uh 6 of those plus something else....????? I would have been like you and needed someone else to wait on her. I personally don't drink alcohol at all while pregnant but I don't think a glass of wine here and there is that big of a deal if someone else were to do that. This on the other hand is absolutely ridiculous! She had to have been trashed at that point and if she comfortably does it in public then I'm sure she is doing it at home too

Thats horrible! So wrong of her..  i dont understand why people drink in general. I understand having a beverage for a meal or a night out but i dont get why people drink to get drunk.
