I don’t think they check urine for GD (I could be wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️). They check it for UTIs and protein. You would have to have the glucose blood test to check for GD.

Yes. Sugar in urine is very fleeting. So just because you happened to not have excess sugar in your urine at the time of your urine test was done doesn't necessarily mean that your body can respond properly when it's given too much sugar. On the contrary, you can also have too much sugar in your urine but not have gestational diabetes like if you drank orange juice or soda right before your appt.
