Do you allow your kids to eat in the living room?

Some nights we eat at the table and some nights we eat in the living room. It just depends on the night and how we’re all feeling.

Only when we do movie nights.

I used to do an occasional “picnic” in the living room during winter.  A blanket on the floor to keep the carpet clean and easy to clean up foods.  Otherwise, food wasn’t allowed out of the kitchen.

I used to and then they started getting super messy so now everyone eats at the table

Snacks, yes. But if it’s something that will make crumbs I specify it needs to be eaten on the hard floor not on the couch. My 3yr old is surprisingly good at keeping messes to a minimum so that’s why I allow it.

Just breakfast and lunch and snacks. Dinner is at the table with everyone
