Frustrated with my fertility specialist. Is this normal?
Sorry this is a bit long, but I could really use some opinions.
My husband and I have been TTC for 3 years now. I finally went to my primary Dr at the beginning of this year so we can move forward. She ordered labs and pelvic exam, and then referred me to a fertility specialist.
When I was making my first appointment with the FS, the Dr did not have any openings, so they scheduled me with the nurse practitioner. She did more labs, medication for my thyroid, and ultimately put me on birth control for 10 weeks for PCOS and then letrozole. That was all fine, the only thing that frustrated me there was, she said she would order my husband a sperm analysis after the 3rd round of letrozole if I still was not pregnant. Not quite sure why we would have to wait until after my 10 weeks of BC and 3 rounds of letrozole to find out if anything is wrong with his sperm. Seems like that should have been done in the beginning along with my testing in order to rule that out or work on him at the same time we work on me.
So after I was almost finished with BC, I had more labs done to make sure all my levels were where we wanted them to be and then later that week I had another appointment. The NP was out of the office, so my appointment was with the Dr. The appointment was fine, pretty much just went through my lab results and went over the process for my letrozole cycles.
Now I'm on my second round of letrozole, just got my positive opk today, and my Dr and NP are telling me 2 different things. This isn't the first time either. All year, I have gone back and forth between the NP and the Dr. I'm starting to get frustrated.
Why wait until the 3rd cycle to test my progesterone? Also, I had an early miscarriage 2.5 years ago, so I feel like that should be even more reason to test it sooner rather than later. What if I conceive this cycle and I miscarry because my progesterone was too low and we didn't do anything about it because she did not have it tested?
These are the messages between me and the NP and then me and the Dr., from when my period started this cycle to now. The messages start at the bottom of the page and go up, top picture, then bottom.
