When’s best time to book in with first midwife appointment?

I’m 4 weeks and was told by GP to wait till about 8 weeks time to see midwife. I’m so desperate to book in already! Is 8 weeks about right or did anyone manage to have their first appointment sooner?

My doctor doesn’t see you until 8 weeks unless you’ve been trying for over a year. If so, she’ll do a blood test confirmation with a second blood test for hcg rising. 
This time I got lucky and my annual Pap smear was right when I was 6 weeks, so she went ahead and did a quick vaginal ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy while I was there, but then I didn’t see her again til 11 weeks, so that was a long wait in between.

If you’re from the uk then they don’t see you until you’re about 8 weeks.

Call and they will ask for your LMP and then book your first appointment based on their protocols. 
If they don't see patients until 8 weeks they will discuss openings during your 8th week based on LMP. But better to call sooner in case they book up fast
