How to you plan on letting your baby sleep?

Question

I heard sharing a bed isnt safe. Im scared something might happen and i want my baby to sleep in a basinet right beside our bed. This would be unless one of us was awake in the bed with the baby for the baby to lay for a little while, while being watched

Bedsharing is safe if done ****correctly**** which I will probably be doing. It’s the only way I got sleep the first two months. I will also be using bassinet

After having my son, I realized that the baby will sleep whenever and however the baby will sleep. You can plan for a bassinet, the crib, or cosleeping, etc. But your baby will quickly tell you what they want, and all your plans will go out the window. 
This is when people who say “id NEVER bedshare” end up with a baby in their bed, because the child will absolutely not sleep anywhere but on them, and the parent is already sleep deprived past any basic functioning level. In the end, the parents need to sleep too. 
Everyone ends up just figuring out what works best for them as they go, because no two kids are the same, and no one plan works for everyone.

My husband and I have been happily bed sharing with our son since we brought him home from the hospital. He just turned a year and we are now doing nap times in his own bed, beside our bed and bedtime he is still between us. Slowly but surely he will move to only his bed though! We plan to bed share with our baby girl due March 22nd!

I bed share with my babies after 3 months. For the first 3 months they're soo tiny and I'm so tired I don't feel safe bed sharing, but once I'm sleeping better I feel safe to bed share. Before that they're in a bassinet right next to my bed

I cant lay in a bed after csections. So I sleep in the lazy boy in nursery with the baby in bassinet beside me or on the boppy on my lap for first 3 months. (Unless I can get to a bed faster for myself then bassinet beside the bed)
After three months? I start crib training.

We put my daughter's crib in our room for 7mo. She was right there when she needed a feed. It was nice when we did move her to her own room because she was used to the crib.

My baby will be in a pack n play in our room , and take naps in his room. I did not bedshare with my son, I just had the pack n play extremely close to the bed so that I didn’t have to get up at night (i had a c section so it was painful) . As tiring as it was , I’d get up, feed or change him and put him back in his bed . He got used to it and I was able to get sleep. With very few sleepless nights (there will always be a few )

We modified an ikea crib to do a sidecar situation and it worked really well for us. I found the idea on pinterest. We tried to do a bassinet but our little guy wasn't having it. Also tried just having him in the bed but we were giving him so much room that we had none and also we felt like we couldn't move or use our comforter or cuddle each other because baby was in the middle because we didn't want him to fall off. With the sidecar I could still breastfeed easily and get as much sleep as possible.

We did bedsharing, but we used a snuggle me organic and kept our daughter swaddled so there was no way she could roll or we could roll onto her. The blankets were also tucked under her snuggle me lounger so they couldn’t come to cover her face. With those as those terms, I felt safer able to have her so close and listen to her breathe all night. I love bed sharing and will do it with baby number two also. 
It’s important to be honest with yourself about how you are and your partner is as a sleeper. Any sort of sleeping patterns that involve being a rough sleeper that tosses and turns and it would take a lot for the person to wake up, I don’t recommend risking it.
Neither me or my partner is a heavy or wild sleeper though. It worked for us. 
Once our daughter out grew her snuggle me, she continued to sleep with us without and still does. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Snuggle me makes a next size up for their lounger so when the baby #2 outgrows their lounger I’ll get the next size up to continue to bed share as safely as possible.

Co-sleeping(baby will be in a bassinet right next to our bed) or minimal bedsharing-like for a nap and done correctly like someone else said
