FMLA Leave - Boss' wife pregnant too - What should I do?

I am 9 weeks pregnant. I work in a very small (3 person office) that is board controlled. I just found out from facebook that my boss' wife is pregnant and due 2 months before me. We are part of a bigger entity and qualify for FMLA leave. My boss has not turned in any FMLA paperwork or even told us. I don't want the board to deny my leave because he is already out. Should I turn in the paperwork ASAP to the board to get my leave approved first or tell my boss? (The third employee has a 2 week prepaid vacation scheduled when I am due.) Is there anyone with HR knowledge on this? Could my FMLA be denied?
