Is it normal for your perineum to be itchy after a tear/stitches?

Yes I was super itchy. After delivery I was prescibed a couple creams (can't remember the names) to apply daily. That helped the itchiness. Also be warned that it could also be Bacterial Vaginosis. I didn't even know I had it until my 6wk check-up and my doctor informed me. That can cause itchiness as well.
