Would you plan to go to a wedding 3 weeks after due date?

My friend is getting married in March and her wedding is 3 weeks after my due date. Its a few hours away so i’d have to sleep overnight and my husband wouldnt be able to go, he will stay home with new baby and toddler. Thoughts?

Depends on how close you are to her. My recovery was SO much better with my 2nd that I I finally understood those "crazy" women that dont become recluses in their home for months afterward lol. Either way, it's just one night you shouldn't feel guilty about it. But in return maybe you could offer hubby a night out with the guys later or something

Depends for me...my babies have all come 2 weeks early so far so I'd be about 5 weeks post partum at that point so I probably would go.

I went to a wedding when my second was 4 weeks old. We had to fly across the country and were there for 4 days. It was my husband who was in the wedding so he was occupied most of the time, me, our 20 month old, and 4 week old. I figured I could be exhausted at home or exhausted in Napa having wine. I would not have gone if I had to be away from baby though, even if it was just one night. I honestly wouldn’t have enjoyed myself at all, so it wouldn’t have been worth it. I would sincerely hope your friend would understand if you end up declining.

I would go and bring my baby. We traveled with my 2 week old over 10hrs to see my mil and so she could meet her new grandson. She was too sick and on chemo to travel so we took upon ourselves to get to her. Traveling was only horrible because we had to stop so much for feedings. But other than that was a good trip. All he did was eat and sleep at that age. I would just nicely tell strangers not to touch or kiss on baby.

I am in a very similar situation my brother-in-law is getting married 2 weeks after our due date. I talked to my sons pediatrician and he said he thinks if I'm feeling well and baby is healthy we should go but wear baby in a carrier not in a car seat and dont let anyone touch him/her.

I have the same issue, my cousin’s wedding is 3 weeks after my due date but it would be a flight away. No matter how I think about it I just don’t see if working for me going unfortunately. I think it’s definitely possible if it’s driving distance but I would definitely make sure your husband is comfortable with the kids!

I don’t think I would be ready to leave the baby overnight quite that early, but that’s just me!  If it was closer, I would definitely go!

There’s always a chance you can go up to 2 weeks over, then the baby would only be a week old! I personally wouldn’t go, but its your decision! Xxx
