When should I start using breast pump for breast stimulation

I am now 36 weeks and 5 days. I have a membrane sweep at my 38 week appointment. But I wanted to start doing my breast stimulation around 37 weeks and 3 days.

People are quick to tell you not to do it but that doesn’t mean it’s as horrible as they make it seem. More than likely it will not put you into labor unless your body was ready to go into labor already. I’ve been hand expressing for weeks now due to major leaking and discomfort. Ask your doctor but pumping after 37 weeks isn’t as extreme as many people make it out to be.

I would wait til I was at least due (40 weeks) unless I had medical reasons to induce. Baby’s lungs are one of the last body parts to full develop so I wouldn’t want to rush them out.

If you're overdue or if your doctor tells you to. People on this app are WAY too quick to try and speed up labor when they aren't even do let. Give your body a chance to do what it's supposed to do on it's own!

Not before baby is born or at very least when you go in active labor. Why? Because breast stimulation can easily put you in premature labor. You are still officially 3 weeks before you are full term. ( be aware that regardless of what your doctor tells you, the people that have paved a career for him and gave him a job, have changed the terms of full term to 39 weeks, due to the tremendous about of evidence , studies etc proving a baby is not full term at 37 weeks and the difference from 37 to39 weeks can be huge. From lung and brain development to life long disabilities.
It doesn’t matter who had their baby at 37 weeks and their kids “turned out ok”. Many kids have not turned out ok.
For that reason nipple stimulation should not be done until after you have already gone in active labor
