Anyone ever get re-tested for Group B Strep closer to delivery?

Question

Yesterday I was 36w,5d and had my Group B test. It came back positive. I have read that sometimes it can come and go, and I really would prefer not to be strapped to an IV pole during labor if it is not necessary, so I am planning to ask them if they might be willing to retest me in a couple of weeks. 
 I already asked about the possibility of oral antibiotics, and they declined.
Has anyone ever had a second test to confirm?

It literally takes 5 minutes for the antibiotics to go through you don’t have to stay on the drip for long.

The problem is that it can come back really fast, so what you're suggesting wouldn't necessarily ensure safety. It's really not that big of a deal, I had it at my last delivery.

I did because my OB said it’s only good for 2wks. I went into preterm labor and hadn’t had the test yet. So I was tested and given antibiotics just in case. I tested negative but had to have it done again further along to see if I was positive now. Thankfully still negative. But I bet you could ask to be tested again.

My son was born with GBS sepsis. Its extremely scary to have a child born with it. It can be deadly. Just do the antibiotics. Theyre not gonna hurt you but they could save your childs life.

I’d rather just get the antibiotics to make sure my baby is safe. It can be super dangerous for baby.

No I’d just have the iv antibiotics I tested positive at 33 weeks my first time round this time there testing me at 36 weeks and I will probably have the antibiotics again x
