First shoes?

Hi I need recommendations please! I haven't bought my son any shoes yet, hes just starting to cruise around and with the colder months coming in New England I think maybe it's time to invest in some shoes. Can you guys recommend anything?  I want easy on, comfortable, good for learning to walk. No idea how I even figure out what his size foot is 🙈🤷‍♀️🤣Thanks!!

Something tight fitting for their first shoe is the best. If it’s the slightest too big they’ll feel like they’re wearing clown shoes lol and it’s already hard enough sometimes for them to walk in shoes. 
We just did a super light weight kind with Velcro straps. Ones that are high tops can be easier for them too. Go get them fitted but let them know you want it to be snug. Yes they’ll grow out of them very soon but super snug fit is best for the first shoe

My son does great in converse! They’re very lightweight and flat so he has no trouble walking in them.

Stride rite soft soles. My kid was a early walker and needed something light but non slip sole. Sometimes you can find the knockoff surprise from target and they half the price.
