I was maybe 7 or 8 when I got them. When I was a kid, it was a big deal for parents to send their kids to play with the kid who caught it first so we could have it and get it over with.

Yes, I had them around 9. I also had shingles at 26. I’m currently 33.

I’m 31, and I had chicken pox when I was about 6 or 7 (my two sisters who were born at the time also got it, bc our parents didn’t vaccinate us for anything 🙄). We were on vacation visiting my grandma and we ended up having to stay longer because they obviously wouldn’t let us fly when all three of us kids had a communicable disease. I still have a couple of scars from it.
