So I work at a big hospital in my town, on a complicated floor. We have a lot of isolation patients and patients on chemo meds that I’m not allowed to care for due to being pregnant. However there have now been multiple times where the nurse has not properly marked the room or found out late into the shift and I’ve cared for these patients. (2 chemo patients, a patient with c diff and a droplet patient for rhinovirus) Not only that but helping assist patients in and out of bed, lifting patients up in bed, bending squatting twisting whatever....I just feel like this job is putting me and my baby at risk. I have other co workers who are pregnant and I don’t really talk to them much so i don’t know if I’m being dramatic or overly cautious but I’m just not willing to chance something happening to my baby because of this job. I’m due in April and need to work, if i switch jobs i won’t qualify for maternity leave elsewhere....What do you think I should do?
