Anyone was or is pregnant and gotten BV??

Hello! I am a first time mommy and I’m 19 weeks pregnant and According to my doctor i got BV
I’m freaking out because the gel she prescribed me has all these crazy side effects and I’m freaking out :( i googled and i made myself freak out more 😣

BV poses more of a risk to your pregnancy than the antibiotics. Flagyl (what you were probably prescribed) is a class B, meaning it’s safe to use while pregnant. Also, probiotics will help replenish good the good bacteria that they antibiotics will kill off (also countering some nausea from the antibiotic). They’ll also keep the infection from coming back! :)

I had it as well but my doctor prescribed me with an antibiotic. She didn’t want me using the gel a different OB told me to use. ( I went to a clinic where you basically see other OBs or midwifes if your original OB isn’t in or at a different clinic)

Yup. I’ve had it once this pregnancy. But had it twice with my last pregnancy. I take/use whatever doctor gives me.

probiotic! I had the same issue with BV I was in early pregnancy and breast feeding I DID NOT want to take that crazy harsh antibiotic so I started a good probiotic and within 3 days my symptoms were gone!
