Cervix check..?

I’m 36+6 weeks and requested a cervix check today and was refused.. :( I want to know how dialated or effaced I am like everyone else has been posting. 😒 they will not check me until 40+1 because they don’t want to bring on labour.. 🤷🏼‍♀️ for what reasons are everyone else getting checked?

I’m 35+6 with twins and my doctor doesn’t do cervical checks at all. The literature actually does not support them and they are old practice. There is no reason to have routine weekly checks and they actually can cause more harm than good. It’s all about risk, benefit. Sounds like you have a great, knowledgeable OB!

A cervix check isn’t necessary in a healthy pregnancy thats progressing well. I don’t blame your doctors for wanting to keep the baby growing as long as possible! The lungs are still maturing so let that baby cook! :)

No reason for my check today I litterally just asked if we could. We did my group b strep test  and I said while we are at it can we see if theres been any cervical changes yet, she said sure!  Of course I am still all closed up.... soo yeah :/ but she didnt have an issue with it at all. My doc also said we could do membrane sweep 37 weeks on. Im waiting till 38 so baby has more time but still weird they denied you :/

I didn’t get my cervix check until 38 weeks and I’m glad they waited

i was on the same boat, my ob refused said she doesnt check until 38 weeks and plus
i have my next appointment at 37 weeks 6 days so im asking that doctor to check since it would just be 1 more day until 38 weeks. I was very frustrated about it too soecially since at this point im ready for my little boy to just be here already and everyone I see has been getting checked starting at like 35 weeks

I'll be getting checked at 36wks as well and mine is just normal procedure with that company.

My dr starts checking mine weekly at 37 weeks, it might trigger labor though because with my first son he Checked me at 37 weeks and I was still 0. But then spontaneously went into labor a few days later
