Melbourne CBD based OB GYN?

Question

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good OB/GYN for when I finally get a BFP? Preferably I'd like to deliver at one of the private CBD hospitals.

KC, I caved. I tested my opk yesterday and today. Today I got a flashing smiley face, meaning I'm in my window. That was after I BDed... so (weather permitting) I guess it's going to be potentially a productive New Year's Eve / Day! How are you going?

I'm in the planning stages too and had no idea where to start. I had a look on Word of mouth (womo) and they have a few that are highly recommended so I got a list from there and called around for their costs etc - they varied from about 4k-7k in costs. Another way is looking on I think it's bubhub or something like that for people who have asked the same question. Your PHI will have a list of ones who can deliver at your hospital of choice. I still don't know who I would go with but one of the receptionists I spoke to suggested that if you need a pap smear done anyway you could make an appointment with a dr you are trying to decide about and go get it done there to see how you feel about him/ her. It might be worth having a think about what you want from him/her too - their bedside manner etc. I spoke to one ob directly when I thought I would get a receptionist and her manner even on the phone put me off (just me though I'm sure she'd be fine). Also (sorry this is long!!) just be aware that some of the obs work in shared practice so even if you book in with Dr A you might end up with Dr B on the day of your delivery. Don't know if that would phase you or not.
