How much was your LO eating at 6 weeks?

My lactation consultant said I was overfeeding my 6 week old. He takes 3 ounces of breast milk whenever he eats. Lately it's been every 1.5-2 hours, but he sleeps for long stretches at night. Is this normal?

All babies are different. As long as baby isn’t spitting up afterwards I wouldn’t be concerned.

Unless the baby is spitting up, I’ve been told there is no such thing as overfeeding a baby... they’ll stop when they want to stop. My son at 2 weeks 5 days is eating 3-4 oz every 2 - 3 hours... during the day! At night, though, he pretty much sleeps through the night. 😇
But every baby is different. But I couldn’t imagine not feeding my baby if he was acting hungry...

By that age my son ate usually 4 ounces 🤷 also every 1.5 to 2 hours then. 
When I see posts like this im like what..  They want the baby to be hungry???? Feed your baby what they want. If my son ever ate to much, he would spit it up. Which is also normal according to pediatrician... So they must be getting what they need. You can't really over feed a 6 week old

I'm sure I'd get told the same thing. My girl will eat up to 5 oz a feeding right now. But her total intake is  between 25-30 oz. She literally will not stop moving and fussing unless I feed her more. It's like she's starving sometimes 😱  shes just over 6 weeks. I've tried everything to slow her down a bit but really, if they are hungry we might as well just feed them!

Around that time, my girl was eating 2.5-3oz every 2 hours (sometimes 1.5).
