Your thoughts on contraceptive...?

Please explain why you went with a specific option. I’d love to hear abt ur experience and if u are happy with the option u chose or if u ended up regretting it. I’m having a really hard time choosing which rout to go...

Implant. It’s suitable for breastfeeding. Long term as our family is complete and after the birth i couldn’t face any more procedures like the coil. I wanted leaving alone down there! I don’t want to have to think about taking a pill every day and collecting prescriptions etc

I have an IUD and LOVE IT, I will ONLY use IUDs now! I’ve had it for 6 months now and I haven’t had any issues! Periods are lighter, shorter and not as painful!

I opted for the Mirena because I was moving abroad and didn’t want the hassle of getting a bc prescription in an unfamiliar place (and I’m mot a huge fan of the pill anyway). 
I had it for five years and loved it - never a single issue, and got pregnant right away (on purpose)when it was removed. 
I’d absolutely have another if I weren’t hoping for baby #2 soon.

I got the copper iud and had it for a little over 2yrs before getting it out to have baby #2 (currently pregnant). I plan to get it again. It can make periods longer and heavier, which it did for me as well as making my cramps worse but I found that switching from tampons to a menstrual cup helped a lot. Aside from that, I mainly picked it because it’s a breastfeeding friendly option and is good for up to 10yrs.  I knew I couldn’t remember to take the mini pill at the same time daily. And hormones are not an option for me.

I have the copper IUD. Only had it 2 months but it’s been great for me. No hormones which I love. 99% effective and I don’t need to do anything, it’s simply there for the next 10 years. The insertion was painless and the bleeding hasn’t been as bad as I expected from other’s experiences.

I chose the Skyla IUD. I had a paragard before this pregnancy which I had no problems with for 4 years. It then partially ejected (didn’t hurt or cause any issues but I had extended bleeding) so I had it removed. I didn’t want anything I needed to remember and I shred minimal hormones, but I wanted lighter or no period so I didn’t want the paragard again. The Skyla is the lowest hormone IUD, and the hormones should stay in the uterus. I was on birth control for almost 10 years and it affected my general mood, I wouldn’t say I was depressed but definitely less happy overall. I haven’t had any side affects or mood changes with the Skyla but it’s only been in for a week.

I chose the pill because I treat it like a vitamin and not "the pill". I would not get the IUD because I heard they can move and you can get pregnant if it moves. And if you have a family history of certain cancers it increases your chances of developing cancer. The other ones does not sound pleasing to me and doesn't make me comfortable.

I’m on the mini pill cause it’s approved for breastfeeding and I have always felt good on the pill. I tried an IUD for a year but hated it. In the past bc pills have never given me any bad side effects.

I've had Kyleena IUD for a little over a year now, and i love it! Placed by Dr and was good to go! Maintenance free! Slight cramping occasionally after sex in the beginning. Periods are lighter and seem to be fading away, wooohoo! I recommend
