Placenta Previa

I havent had any bleeding but I just started having really bad cramps. I thought maybe I need to use the restroom so I sat on the toilet and that didnt help. So I took my 3 year old into my room to lay down, im still having cramps not as bad as when I went to the toilet and little shooting like pains but baby is still active and moving. Should I go to the hospital or call my midwife? Im hoping laying down will make them go away.
