Did you have a birth plan? Did you find it beneficial?

When the nurses asked if I had a birth plan I said "get this baby out healthy" and that's as far as my plan went. I don't think birth is something you can plan. Anything can happen.

I had a "things I would like to do" plan lol but I knew going into it anything can happen. Its beneficial to have a birth plan, but just know 9/10 times it doesn't go as planned but I would think about it so you have an idea of what you want to happen.

My birth plan is to come out of this alive with a live, healthy baby! For me its really just that simple.

It’s more of a birth wish list 😂 I planned to discuss mine with my ob at my 39 week appt last pregnancy and then I went into labor at 38+3 haha

The few things I really wanted, if circumstances allowed, were to delay cord clamping, donate any left over cord blood, and to do immediate skin to skin with me, followed by dad. These were already the standard practice of my doctor and the hospital I delivered at in general, so I didn’t feel a need for a further birth plan. Obviously if the baby or I was in distress, plans would change, and I was very willing to accept that. I felt a mostly laid back approach to labor served me well!
