Birth story

Keri

Cole was born at 733pm October 30th 2017. However I didn't get to hold my baby boy until Halloween morning.

I had a long difficult delivery. I was in labor for four days. I had an epidural that wore off. I pushed for 4 hours after already dealing with contractions for 4 days and getting next to no sleep. I was exhausted.

Finally we decided a csection was going to be the best route for me to have him.

During my c-section I hemorrhaged and lost a lot of blood. I was so out of it I barely remember seeing Cole when he was born.

The next morning I got up extremely determined to see my son. I got up got dressed, not without help from my amazing husband, and we WALKED to the NICU. Along the way all of the nurses kept saying they couldn't believe I was already up and walking.

It wasn't without extreme pain and difficulty, but I did it. The moment I laid my eyes on this small fragile human I knew his dad and I would do any and everything to make sure he was protected and loved.

Alex told me in this moment as I pick Cole up that he hadn't even held Cole because he felt as his mom and the woman who carried him I should be the first person to hold him.

That was the moment that I knew full heartedly that I found the man I was meant to be with.

I love both my men with everything that I am.

I love my girls just as much.
