Obgyn?????

Shante • I became a mother April 1st of 2020 to a beautiful baby girl.

Now this is my first pregnancy and I am not in a financially stable situation, let’s keep this in mind. Also, I’ve always wanted a kid when I was financially stable then I got my apartment and lost my job a week later. No matter how many applications I put in or calls I make no one seems to be hiring.

I didn’t find out I was pregnant until halfway into month two according to the nurse at the free clinic and my app. My family is getting upset because I haven’t seen an OB yet but I can’t even afford health insurance let alone rent for my first apartment. I’ve been watching labor and birth vlogs, home births, etc. And seeing the pros and cons of a midwife vs an OB. I’ve been told by multiple people that miscarriages can be common in the first trimester so I decided to skip looking for an OB in all and focas on getting a job even if temporary. Well now I’m in week 16 and I’m going to give myself another 4 to 5 weeks before scheduling my first appointment to give myself more time to find a job so that I can afford health insurance.

With all this information out so you all are more aware of my situation I have some questions and concerns.

1) How do I choose and OB?

No matter how much research I do I’m still confused.

2) What do I do if I can’t find a job in order to get health care in 4 to 5 weeks?

It’s looking impossible right about now.

3) Is it true that you can’t do the things you use to when you have a baby like go out to a restaurant, shop (mostly window shopping unless it’s a good deal), go to the movies, etc?

I need to know before I loose my s###.
