My Halloween Baby🎃❤️

My little pumpkin decided she wanted to come a little early!

On October 29th, I went to the hospital due to shortness of breath and racing heart. I stayed in triage from about 9:30am-4:30pm. While I was there, they ran a bunch of tests that came back negative and checked my cervix twice. I was having some contractions, but wasn’t feeling them at all and my cervix was completely closed and very posterior both times I was checked. I was sent home with no problems or signs of labor.

On October 30th, I woke up as normal around 8am, still no contractions, just some light cramping. I went to the bathroom and I still hadn’t had any spotting or bleeding from the cervical checks the day before. At 10:30am, I was laying in bed and I noticed my underwear felt kinda wet so I went to the bathroom and felt a gush come out of me. I looked down and saw a bunch of blood. Had no idea what was happening and started freaking out. I know now that it was my bloody show. I called my doctor and she told me to go to the hospital since there was a continuous amount of blood coming out. As I was walking around getting everything ready, my water broke.

We drove to the hospital, about a 30 minute drive, and still no contractions. 2 hours after my water broke, still no contractions and my cervix was still completely closed.

They started me on a pill to help soften my cervix at 4pm, that’s when I started to feel contractions. Around midnight I was checked and at 4cm dilated they ordered the epidural and started me on Pitocin.

That epidural was a LIFE SAVER. I didn’t feel any pain with them putting it in, it was very easy. It didn’t help much with sleep because the heaviness of my legs was uncomfortable, BUT WAY BETTER THAN CONTRACTIONS!!

At 7am I was checked and my cervix was fully dilated, but at 6 they had given me another strong dose of the epidural so when I did a practice push, the felt nothing.

At 8 am the doctor told the nurses to have me start pushing.

On Halloween, at 8:38am, Aria Rose Davis was born💕🥰 6lbs 5oz and 19 inches
