My pain med free, 4 hour induced labor with a posterior baby 😳 long story!!

cc

For starters, I didnt expect to be having this baby 100% drug free. I have 2 girls who were both born face up and the back pain was horrid. I had epidurals with both labors but they didnt work well at all so I was in a huge amount of pain still. So going into my 3rd labor I knew I didnt want the epidural. I wanted to use the shower and jacuzzi until it became too much and then nubain and eventually an epidural if I felt like I really needed it. I came to the hospital oct 31st after having only 3 hours of sleep. Was dilated 3cm and having a few irregular contractions. Once I got everything hooked up we started pitocin at about 630. They would come and increase every 30 mins. By 1130 I was maxed on pitocin and dilated to 4 but still having zero pain. At 12 the doctor came to break my water which I knew was when things would get crazy, but wasnt prepared for how crazy! Instantly contractions intensified. They put me on a wireless monitor and I was able to get into the shower. My nurse put a chair in backwards bc I was having pain all in my back. Again 😫. I just remember through every contraction I would relax as much as I possible could and let the pain wash over me. I would tell myself that this was nothing and it would only get worse. I prayed to god for love light and protection for me and my son. The shower was freaking amazing. Took almost all the pain away!! But after about 10 mins I had to get out because the wireless monitor was freaking out and not picking up babies heart beat. So back to the bed I go. But oh hell no. That made my contractions intensify by 2x just from laying there. They tried to put another monitor on me but it was doing the same thing! The nurse said she never seen a monitor do that before, which actually turned out to be a blessing lol. I tell her I want the nubain soon bc I'm so upset I cant use the shower anymore and never even got to try the jacuzzi. She says okay let me know when you're ready and I'll check you bc they cant give it past 8cm. I say okay and all the sudden the next contraction I feel the omg I need to poop feeling. But I second guess myself like no freaking way it way too soon. Next contraction poop feeling is stronger. I tell my husband to get the nurse, we somehow get me into the bed and she checks me I'm at 7. The other nurse checks me 2 seconds later I'm at 8. No nubain for me ! Ugh I was so bummed. So they get me up on all 4s with the back of the bed straight up. All of the sudden im cussing and screaming and shaking through contractions and up to this point I didn't make a single sound. So we knew it was time. After what felt like forever and was actually only 8 mins 🤣 the doctor comes in. My husband asked to help deliver the baby and doctor says yes!! They both get their gown and gloves on and its go time! Finally I'm able to really start pushing and that was the real pain. Omg. With my girls pushing was a relief. Not this time! I pushed for what I felt was forever but my nurse informed me was about 6 minutes. Or 3 contractions and my son slate was born at 2:18pm didnt tear or need stitches at all. Baby was also delivered and put on my chest by my husband 😍 Only 2 hours after my water was broken. I have heard so many stories about people who go all natural and they say there is this high that you feel and you feel like such a badass and the baby is a professional nurser bc they didnt have any meds. But honestly I didnt feel any different than when I gave birth to my girls. I still pushed a baby out at the end of the day. And hes not as good at nursing as his sisters 🤷‍♀️ anyways if you read this whole long thing, my sin slate was 7lbs 10oz and 20 inches long. I never want to have another unmedicated birth and will probably never get pregnant again but man was he so worth it 💕
