Dating scan today . Drinking water?

Its my first pregency am going for my data scan today am very nervous but also excited.
  I think am 11 weeks , but i will find out today .
  I just hope baby is ok
For anyone that has had a dating scan do i drink alot an hour before the scan? Or start now its at 2pm

My OB said to drink 32 ounces starting an hour beforehand.

My OB said nothing about water and I did a urine sample before the u/s so I had an empty bladder. They did a transvag u/s so bladder doesn't matter. You can either call and ask, or go in with a full bladder and you can always empty it if they want you to.

The lady I had do my ultrasounds for both of my pregnancies told me that I didn’t need to drink a ton of water before any of my ultrasounds. She said that she don’t even know why they tell people to do that anymore. Always let me pee before she got started. Definitely call your hospital and ask :)

They made me get up and empty my bladder. I had drunk a bunch of water beforehand just in case and they made me get up like 3 times during the scan to pee haha. I think it depends on the kind of equipment they have.

Are they doing an abdominal scan or a transvaginal scan? I just went this week to my 11 week appointment. It was my first appointment and the dr did a transvaginal scan so I didn’t have to drink any water before. But if it’s going to be abdominal then you’ll need to drink 32oz of water within an hour before the appointment.
