Cold sore remedies ?

Does anyone know what’s safe to use on a cold sore while pregnant?
Or have any natural or at-home remedies?

Get a prescription from your doctor. They won't want you delivering vaginally if you've had one recently and not taken the prescription. With my first they were going to start a round of it when I was 39 weeks whether I'd had one recently or not just to be safe. I'd call your OB.

Oral valtrex is totally safe during pregnancy. I get cold sores frequently and have had to take multiple times during this pregnancy.

I would talk to your doctor they have very good medication that's safe for your baby and you and it's better can any over-the-counter.

I get them and had my doctor call me in valtrex. It’s safe during pregnancy, and makes them go away a lot quicker. I get cold sores when I’m sick or super stressed, so I am taking them daily now to prevent a cold sore popping up when baby gets here.  Also, I’ve used Abreva and it’s worked well for an otc solution.

Anything topical is safe. Abreva is a good one to try. And don't pick at it no matter how tempting it is, it'll last longer if you do

I use the polysporin patches. They're nice because they cover up the wet oozy feeling and you can wear a lipstick on top so you don't feel as self-conscious
