The birth of Alexa Ann (kinda long ) 💜👶🏽

..

I’m 3 weeks late but life has been a mix of joy and chaos.

At 3:00 am on the morning of October 9th I started having cramps and I was totally confused as to what was going on . “ could I be in labor “ “ is this finally it ?!” Those words kept running through my mind for an hour , 4:00 am came and the cramps turned into full blown contractions , 7-8 minutes apart . I woke my husband up and told him “ babe , I think I’m having contractions “ . He gets up , I go shower and get dressed , by the time I get out of the shower my contractions were 5 minutes apart and getting more intense . We get into the car and drive 30 minutes to Labor and Delivery by the time we got there it was about 6 am , contractions coming 2-3 minutes apart , the labor and delivery nurse made me walk around for an hour to see if I’ll dilate more but I didn’t so she sent me home . Well on the drive home my contractions were coming 1-2 minutes apart so we called my OB and she told me to come see her , I was in so much pain to the point I was crying and because it hurt to walk . We get to the doctors office and she checked me and said if she would’ve known I was getting contractions this close I wouldn’t have went home ( nurses in L & D gave my OB the WRONG information over the phone thus why I was sent home ) . The nurses in labor and delivery kept telling me I was only experiencing Braxton Hicks which was wrong . After I left my OBs office she immediately admitted me , I go to labor and delivery and get settled into my room and got my epidural . An hour later my OB came to break my water and 46 minutes after that my baby girl was born . I was very lucky to have a quick delivery .

If you feel as though something is wrong DO NOT hesitate to go into Labor and Delivery or to call you doctor !! I feel like this could’ve went south very quickly because the nurses were so eager to get off work and didn’t bother to communicate affectively before changing shifts . They got me and another woman’s info wrong like told my doctor her info instead of mine .

This is her now , almost a month old 😭
