Sorry this is so long !

Let me start by saying my baby girls due date was October 4th, my sisters wedding.

We knew there could be a chance she would be born on that day or close to it. We didn’t think much of it because how far ahead she was measuring, and genetically in my family every woman has had their babies 2 to 3 weeks early.

At 33 weeks I was measuring 3 cm dilated and 50% effaced. So we thought it would be soon. As time went on we found out that was not the case. I was 5cm dilated from 37 weeks till 39. At 39 weeks I was still pregnant at 6 cm dilated and 90% effaced.I was sure if she was going to fall out at any given point. I asked my midwife if she could just break my water and get things moving. So on the 2nd October I was induced. We got there around 1 PM sat there and waited for quite a while. They did a very aggressive membrane sweep at four. Started some contractions here and there. And at 8 PM they broke my water!

From there things started moving fast! Within minutes contractions are coming very quick and hard about 2 to3 minutes apart. I became very uncomfortable. At that Point I started to self doubt if I really wanted to do this naturally. And my amazing nurse asked if I would like to get in the tub, and so I did!

By the time I got in the tub it was around 9:45 PM and I was about 7 1/2 cm dilated. Let me tell you the contractions are nooo joke! It’s something I can’t even describe. It felt like I was stuck forever at 7 1/2 cm. Really it was only an hour and then I was 8 or so. At this point my body was starting to push without me trying. So I knew I was getting close.

While in the tub they were trying to monitor her heart rate every 15 minutes. And we’re having a hard time finding it. That was probably the most annoying part was getting pushed on with the Doppler and trying to be accommodating to them so they could reach my belly, but also trying to be comfortable.

At one point they couldn’t find her heartbeat so they recommended I get out of the tub to find it easier. Before I did that they checked to see how far along was I. I was complete and ready to push!

I was so ready to get out and be able to do something with the contractions.

I got out of the tub and into the bed, and began to push. Within the first push she was crowning ! While pushing they kept saying do you want to feel her head. I was like, “ I can’t even reach that far haha, no.”

I had been pushing for about 45 mins and hit a stalling point where there was not much movement and they were getting worried, so I buckled down. My midwife informed me that I was going to tear. I said that is fine, just let it happen naturally. Within just a couple pushes her head was out and I was told to pause for a second because her cord is wrapped. Then I got the go ahead to give another big push, and here she was!!

From breaking of the waters, it was about 4 hours! I am very lucky and thankful for a fast birth!

I did have a second degree tear, I personally didn’t think it was that bad. I have been told I have a high pain tolerance though...

No, we didn’t make the wedding but we did get to FaceTime in!

Things I was surprised about !

-The sounds that came out of me I didn’t know I could make hahaha!

-Contractions are worse then the actual pushing out of the baby!

-Pushing was great, gives you something to do with the pain!

-The ring of fire isn’t as bad as people say.

- First post birthday bowl movement , not that bad. But! Make sure to take stool softeners!

-I thought I would like music and to try different positions that I didn’t like either of it.

-Again contractions suuuccck!!

ALSO! I broke a ton of blood vessels in my face from pushing so hard and fast.
