Why only at night?

Question

Since we've been home from the hospital our little man insists that he needs the pacifier in his mouth at all times. But only at night when we go to bed. We've increased his feedings thinking that was it. But didn't seem to help.

Any suggestions would be wonderful!

If he wants it at night time let him have it. It helps decrease the risk of sids I've heard. As long as he isn't using it in place of food, which sounds like he isnt.

I just constantly pop the pacifier back in at night lol.  I fall asleep nursing a lot though so sometimes he’s on my nipple for 45 minutes+ and can re-find it pretty easily now if he comes off it.

My baby only likes his pacifier at night. I don’t see a problem with it. Helps him get to sleep easier and reduces the risk of SIDS. Win all around.

Sucking helps them soothe themselves. My LO is 3 months & she FINALLY accepts some type of pacifier. It was horrible trying to get her to calm down when she was already full but still fussy because she wanted to suck on something but the pacifier I originally had would make her gag.

It's just a comfort thing🤷 my girl has to have it like 24/7. It's a lifesaver now, but I'm sure it'll be a hassle when she goes into her own room and I have to replace it 9 million times at night hahahah
