Mastitis ?

So last night super suddenly I started feeling sick like the flu. Terrible chills, fever of 100, stomach ache and my right breast was throbbing pain. I took a nap and felt better but still sore on my boob.
Woke up this morning to still hurting and this is what it looks like. I’m assuming it’s mastitis? Should I go in or let it run it’s course?

Mastitis is not something to mess with - I’d at least call your OB.

I had Mastitis a few weeks ago. Definitely get some antibiotics. In the meantime, nurse nurse nurse! Dangle nursing helped so much with the pain. If you have a HaaKaa, fill it with warm water and Epsom salts, attach it and it’ll help with pulling any clogs but also help with nipple pain. Looks like you’re catching it early so it should clear up within a few days with antibiotics!

Try heating then pumping directly after on the highest setting pointed in the direction of the swelling. I also used an electric toothbrush and put the head directly in the painful part so it vibrated while I pumped and it worked! You will feel it be much softer if it comes out but it may still be tender for a few days. Also try a hot shower and put your shower head on the highest setting and aim it directly in there then pump right after while massaging. It might not be mastitis yet and the antibiotic will affect your supply, still talk to your ob though.

As above - if its just the engorged breast then you can generally sort it yourself with heat, massage and feeding through the pain, but with the flu symptoms as well it means it's got infected and you'll need antibiotics xxx
