Husband with low sex drive post-baby

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I was cleared for sex at my 6 week appointment last week and have been ready to go as far as sexy time goes. We’ve always had a healthy sex life but things definitely slowed down as the pregnancy progressed and obviously once LO arrived (so we’ve done the deed maybe 3 times in the last 3 months).

I guess I just assumed he’d be all psyched and set to get back into it once we were cleared by he’s really hesitant. He says he “feels weird about it” after the labor/delivery, knows it will likely be uncomfortable for me because I tore, and is conscious of the risk of getting pregnant again so quickly after LO.

We have a great marriage and communicate well so I guess I’d just like to hear how others have handled similar situations and gently encouraged it without making him feel pressured. I’m OK waiting until he’s ready but miss him!
