I’m 37 weeks and 6 days and I got checked today and I’m 2cm dilated and 50% thin (effaced) but my OBGYN scheduled my induction date 3 weeks from now but said I might not make it that long....

my bestfriend was 5 cm at 39 weeks was 2cm at 37 weeks went into active labor at 40+5 
just jump around and get your heart rate elevated and squats I swear by squats

Not necessarily. I was 1-2cm and 80% effaced at 30 weeks. At 36 weeks I was 4cm and 100% effaced and had a sweep. I never went into labour and was induced. Some women stay stuck at a certain point others progress very quickly.
