I started getting contractions Sunday night that were consistent but not quite painful. Had been having them for the past week actually. Woke up in the middle of the night like I so often did to eat, still having the same contractions. Went back to sleep around 7am. Woke up at 11 still with the contractions. I'm in a program called healthy start so I called my mum, worker I guess? To go pick up my baby's carseat and she told me to come at 1. By the time I got there I was able to feel the contractions more but not quite painful yet. Me and my 9 year old go back to the house so I can get the carseat put in and by the time that's done I'm telling him "well I don't think we're gonna make it to Vanessa's I have to go to the hospital" I call my friend and tell her then proceed to the hospital. (Bags were already in the car) I had to stop at the gas station to use the atm and it was being filled so this delays me by about 20-30 minutes. Whole time contractions are getting worse. I'm finally able to use the atm and quickly head to the hospital around the corner. By the time I get to triage and hooked up to the monitors about 15 minutes to 3. I'm at 4cm 80%. They say they'll check my back in an hour. I called them back at 3:30 because I'm in so much pain I can't wait the whole hour. My contractions were right on top each other at this point. So they check and I'm 5 and a half and she says "we're having a baby today" so I get my iv and moved to a delivery room. Instantly asked for my epidural. Got that at about 5:20 and 10 minutes later I couldn't feel a thing. He was awesome. At around 7 something my dr comes in and says my baby's heartrate is dropping at every contraction so she's going to break my water. They tell me to let me know when I start to feel pressure and leave the room. Some time later I let them know I feel it and they skip on practice pushing because she's so close. They call the dr and at 8:42 my daughter is born. I'm instantly in love and still trying to think of a name because we leave in the morning
