Overfeeding? 11 weeks old.

Question

How much are your 10 to 12 week old babies eating? My baby went from eating 6 ounces every 3 to 4 hours￼ before shots to 4 to 5 ounces every 2 to 4 hours ￼after shots.￼ My mom says it’s good because we were overfeeding him. He does OK with 4 to 5 ounces sometimes he wants more. But he never had a problem taking six before. Was I overfeeding him? His weight percentile isn’t too far one way or the other. 35%￼￼

6 oz is not over feeding - it’s the recommended amount! It’s not supposed to be a rule anyway, just an average. If your baby wants it then give it to them, you can’t over feed them. Mine is 12 weeks old and has been taking 6oz for the past 2 weeks. I don’t actually think it will be long before she’s on 7oz

My little girls started doing the same. She used to have 6oz bottles every 4 hours but now she’s snacking and having 3-4oz every 2 hours. She slept through the night last night though so that’s a plus!

My 10 week old takes 3-4 oz every 3 hours. He has one bigger meal at night (5oz) and then sleeps a little longer. He had gone down to about 2oz last week with some reflux problems and the nurse practitioner said he had been over eating at 4oz. He said 2-2.5 was perfect for his age at the time (8-9 weeks). He was premature though so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it.
He shot right back up to 3-4oz once we got his reflux under control though so I’m just going with it. Not gonna ignore the poor kid when he is acting hungry.

My 12 week old takes 6oz every 4 hours. Has been on that schedule since about 10 weeks and he's in the 40th percentile with weight.
