left ventricle intracardiac echogenic focus seen on ultrasound..... has anyone else had this?
I’m 26 weeks and just seen my dr today. She told me that at my 21 week anatomy scan (I haven’t seen her since then) that they noticed a small white spot on the babies left ventricle, called a intracardiac echogenic focus.... she told me there’s NOTHING to worry about and that she’s not worried. 99% of the time it’s just a calcium deposit that creates a shadow seen in ultrasound. But she also told me that it’s a soft marker for Down syndrome..... again she thinks he’s perfectly normal and healthy because that’s the only ‘marker’, his profile, neck, bones, everything else in his heart everything is completely 100% normal. I requested an ultrasound just to give me a peace of mind, she said she’s not worried but knows I suffer from anxiety. Has anyone else’s babies had this and been completely normal? Everything I read basically says nothing to worry about either, but again it’s one of many soft markers from Downs. Help a worried mama out please and reassure me everything will be okay like my doctor says 😭
