Nervous to be induced!

So, I’m a first time mom, 39wks, due Nov. 16th. I’m currently completely effaced but only 1cm dilated. My doctor told me to come in on Tuesday, November 12th to talk about induction, but she had to run and deliver a baby so I had no time to ask her anything about it! So I need y’all help!

Is it normal to induce a first time mom?

Is it scary to be induced? More painful? Easier and less painful?

Do I get to pick the day?

I have been trying to google information about it, but everywhere online says induction is for medical emergencies only, but I’m not a medical emergency!
