When to tell family

Question

How far a long were you when you told your family? I'm debating whether or not to wait the full 12 weeks.

I’ve been pregnant 4 times and I’ve told close family right away around 3 weeks when I got my positive. I had 2 losses around 9 weeks. I’d rather have support than suffer alone. And I’ve come to terms with the fact that there is no true safe zone. Unfortunately bad stuff can happen at any time. You’ve just got to stay positive.

Told xlose family anf friends at 8 weeks then lost the baby the next week. I will definitely not be telling anyone next time until 12 weeks

I told them both when I found out I was pregnant each time. Both ended in losses where baby stopped growing at 10 weeks. This one we waited for the 12 weeks and announced to them and 14+3 for the rest of the world.
If god forbid you were to miscarry you just have to see if you’d want the support. For me it was nice a bit but it really stung / hurt when they weren’t too excited the third time around... which is understandable but that killed me. So it’s personal preference

We are just starting to tell our families this coming weekend.  Ill be 9weeks. Husband is traveling to see his family, so he will tell them then. My moms birthday is this weekend so I will tell her then. After that, we tell my dad and his side of the family at Thanksgiving (11 weeks) and then the next weekend (12 weeks) we have a huge family party so our close group of family friends and extended family will know by then. So that way we get our closest people to know before we say anything publicly. We wanted to avoid people "finding out through facebook" and make sure most people found out in person, so we've planned it out this way.

I told my parents and siblings after my first ultrasound, around 6 weeks. Honestly, if I get pregnant again, I'll probably wait until close to 13 weeks. They put too much pressure on me to publicly reveal before I was ready.
