Do you let your kid sit on Santa’s lap while kicking and screaming?

I just don’t understand if they’re scared and don’t want to do it then why force them for a ‘photo’ 🙄🤦‍♀️

I will take my son to Santa but if he becomes upset I’m not going to force him. I have a baby picture of me sitting on Santa and I was terrified 🤦‍♀️ won’t be doing that to him.

Last year our toddler freaked out so we made it a family photo instead. He was ok with sitting on my lap next to santa lol.

Last year our daughter was not ok with it, so he stood behind the chair for the picture!! It still turned out super cute, with no tears!!

I’m anticipating mine most likely crying, but it takes the photographer about 4 seconds to get a pic so I’m pretty sure she can deal with that.

I’ve been lucky with my first, her first Christmas she was young enough to not care then her second Christmas she was over major stranger danger issues and totally into the idea of Christmas. I feel this won’t be the case with my second (he’s 15m atm) I think he will be smack dab in the middle of strange danger awareness. The only thing that might save it is seeing his sister is totally good with what’s going on but we won’t know until day of.

Last year our son was 11 months and we did a family photo with Santa. He kept looking at Santa like "who is this stranger holding me" and would not look at the camera. It did help that my husband has facial hair, so our son doesn't get too freaked out. Hopefully this year will be better

No.  Forcing them to hang out with a stranger they’re terrified of just for a picture seems a little dumb to me.
