Laryngomalacia Help

Lauren

Has anyone had any experience with laryngomalacia? My 7 week old son was diagnosed when we went to the ER for choking/gasping for air. He has had stridor since birth (he was born 35w6d and stayed in nicu for 4 days). We were told by the nicu nurse that he would grow out of it but it’s only gotten worse. He is a noisy breather, chokes during feeds, gasps for air, has horrible reflux that comes out of his nose occasionally, and screams a lot because he’s uncomfortable. He’s been to the pediatrician 6 times since he’s been home and they prescribed ranitidine which doesn’t seem to help and scheduled a GI swallow study. Ever since it’s gotten worse, he’s been choking a lot more, eating less, and so exhausted from struggling 24/7. He was scoped by an ENT in the ER 2 days ago and they diagnosed the LM. They didn’t give ANY advice other than keep doing what we’ve been doing. They said as long as it doesn’t continue to get worse, he shouldn’t need surgical intervention. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this or tips to help him be more comfortable? Sorry for the long post being all over the place, but I’m a FTM and I just want my baby to be happy and it kills me that he’s constantly struggling.
