When you are telling your boss u won’t be going into work... what do you call it?

This is an unsettled debate in my life rn. I’ve always said “I’m calling into work” but then I know people who say “I’m calling out” or “I’m calling off” lol

I grew up in the Midwest and I always referred to it as calling off. I moved to El Paso for five years and everyone said calling out. Perhaps it depends on which part of the country you’re in.

They are interchangeable. I saying calling out. Because I'm calling saying I will be out.
