Friends with benefits?

Hey, I don’t really have a good way to get into this so we’re just gonna dive in.

I’ve had this friend, we’ll call him K for now, for years. He’s online but it doesn’t take away from our relationship. We’ve dated a few times, it didn’t really work out and we decided we were better as friend. But recently we’ve gotten into what I can say sexting I guess. We’ve basically been talking about each others kinks, very sexual conversations etc. I’m not complaining but I’m confused as to what our relationship is now. We’re obviously still friends but it’s something more than that but not dating. I just wanted to vent a little, thanks.
