Tuesday November 5th early evening I posted that I was 39 weeks and 4 days pregnant due that Friday 11/8 and that there were no signs of labor starting anytime soon even though I had been having contractions since 11/1 and was 1cm dilated. Well around 9:30/10 that night I had my bloody show, called into my hospital told them about the contractions and getting my bloody show, they told me it was normal of course and to get some rest. So I did, at 11:00 pm my underwear became wet, it wasn’t a big gush like you expect but it was definitely enough to change my underwear. Since it wasn’t a gush I got changed and laid back down and didn’t pay much attention to it.

11/6 at 3:30 am I was awaken with contractions and they were a little stronger than they had been the past 5 days, but still bearable. They continued all through the morning and 6:00 am they had gotten stronger and were 3-4 minutes apart I woke my fiancé up and told him I was going to take a hot shower and see if they would stop (jokes on me) they actually started getting stronger. I called into the hospital and told them what was going on and they said to go head and come in because it sounded like active labor. I get to the hospital about 8/8:30 am they check me and hook me up to monitors, 3 cm dilated 80% thinned, my midwife determined active labor and decided to admit me because I had to get antibiotics for testing positive for the strep b.

At about 3:00 pm my contractions had slowed down so they gave me pitocin to speed them back up, it worked almost immediately contractions were coming every 2 minutes and very strong, at 5 pm I was checked to see how far I was I was 5 cm and 90% thinned. I was experiencing back labor and it was very uncomfortable not painful, the pressure was in my lower back and tailbone so I decided to get the epidural so that I can be comfortable during labor. The epidural was administered around 5:15 pm, I was checked again at 7:00 pm I was 7 cm and 100% thinned out. I went until 10:30 before I wanted to be checked again I was finally 10 cm dilated and ready to push, I started pushing at 10:35 and baby girl came 40 minutes later on 11/6/19 at 11:16 pm ( on my sisters birthday). I felt everything from pushing to her head coming out (which I wanted to be able to feel). Baby girl weighed 6 pounds 5 ounces and was 20.75 inches long. It’s been one week and my life has changed so much I’m so in love with her and can’t imagine life without her.
