Hurt want some point of views

So just asking how do you feel about this situation. I found out today the guy I love was talking to another girl at the same time and he told me that they had sex several times... and his reasoning was that of “we weren’t even together” except he knew he’s the only one I was talking to and having sex with... so I just wanna know if for anyone this is considered “cheating” or he has a point
