Sexual relations?

Just wondering if any of u have been told not to have sex just because doing the act and carrying twins is more problems than it's worth and that we can just do other stuff making sure I don't orgasm. Could understand if low lying placenta or anything along those lines.. So my question is have u been told this? Did u anyway? Was there any probs following the act?

I'm 28 weeks with mono/di babies. No complications. We were told sex was perfectly fine.

We have been on precautions since 14 weeks for a previa.. Had appt yesterday and placenta slowly moving up.. Believe me u want to listen to ur dr there is a reason the put u on precautions.. Do we want to have sex absolutly but it short time compared to the rest of our lives together.. A few months for the safety of me and the girls is worth the wait..

Each pregnancy and dr will be different. My dr said sex is actually good both physically and mentally for me. Wish I had enough energy to do it more 😉

Sex causes contractions. Prostaglandin (found in the semen) causes contractions. Even breast stimulation (secretes oxytocin) causes contractions. I had low lying placenta during my 2nd pregnancy. Avoid sexual intercourse until doctor says it is okay.

I was put on pelvic rest (no sex) from 7-12 weeks and then again from 16-36 weeks due to having contractions. Twin pregnancies are more problematic than singles and it is ultimately worth going without for a few months for the safety of your babies and yourself.

My regular OB & maternal fetal medicine specialist both say no sex after 20 weeks with twins even if you're not having any complications. If they put you on pelvic rest, obey the rules! I personally know someone who didn't & lost her son at 19 weeks.

The last two times I have had sex I have had bleeds hours later. I am 10 weeks. Second time happened last night so I have have a scan at 3 today to check the babies are okay and if there is a reason for the bleeding.

I'm 17 weeks with di/di twins and no comments on not having intercourse at all. My Drs say it's totally fine. I'm sure when I'm further along they will tell me other wise to be careful and I will regardless. But we keep our sex the same because no one told us otherwise! If they did make a comment not too with certain things I would listen.

I was told no oral (for me... I assume to decrease mouth bacteria getting down there?) and no doggie or on top. Basically just missionary.
