1st loss and complications TMI

courtney

LONG STORY-

12weeks - Sunday 10th November went to er with spotting and slight cramping nothing major just checking it out. Hcg showed a massive drop and were told I was miscarrying.

11.11- had booked 12 week scan (now just to confirm loss) which is what was the go. They had only found a sac and placenta. So I’m guessing from research a “blighted ovum”.

13.11- 1am naturally miscarriage starts, most comfort was in shower. Crazy stuff not overly painful (odd from what I’ve read) hubby mentions how well I’ve tolerated it all so far.

14.11 - just some bleeding and cramping nothing major.

15.11- 6:50pm put son to bed early as pain was pretty intense (contractions could time these things started lower back and ripped past my hips into pelvic and stomach area) bad one hit at 7:30 got up to use toilet as after every “contraction” I felt a gush of blood.

I was up and down off toilet changing pads so frequently I was messaging my best friend asking if it was normal so I tested the amount of blood coming out, I put a pad on my hand and held it for 5mins pulled it out and it was covered.

The bleeding that I was worried about was like a constant dripping tap. I stood up and blood started pouring I put my hand there to stop it and it sprayed everywhere. (Bathroom looked like a murder scene)

At this point I woke my husband (who was meant to be working that night as I had seemed ok previous) and we grabbed my son and went to hospital. 20min drive I changed pad before we left it was soaked through to clothes.

Pain was intense I was brutally shaking my bp was dropping and hr was in the 120’s and rising.

Finally after s*#t loads of pain meds I was stabilized enough to be transferred to Melbourne hospital.

They checked inside to see what the issue was and found a MASSIVE clot in the uterus that was causing it, finally after getting that out the bleeding and cramps eased. I was released that morning. If bleeding continued I would have had to go to theatre and blood transfusion as I was borderline of loosing to much.

Slept for the whole day plus some. Intense headaches yesterday and major dizziness and today I’m feeling pretty good !!

I’m extremely greatful for my husband being by my side the whole time his seen me at my absolute lowest and worst now, from assisting me to the toilets, wiping tears, cleaning up blood, and helping me with those huge nappy/pad things they gave me in hospital. To caring for me at home and reminding me almost every 5mins how much he loves me. I couldn’t ask for someone so amazing and like I said to him I’m pretty sure anyone else would have ran a mile witnessing all that haha, he reminded me through sickness and health, for better for worse.

They have sent the large clot off for testing because of the complications. Not sure what that entirely means. Thanks for reading if you managed to read it all ☺️
