My doctors wanted me to go to hospital right away when my water broke regardless of strep.

It’s not really a yes or no answer. If your water breaks prior to contractions I recommend laboring at home until contractions pick up to 4-1-1. If contractions are already going at a good consistency when it breaks then I would at least get ready. Not for the group b. You can test positive one day negative the next, most first world country’s do not even test for it. Risk is present but very little. You are not “required” to get antibiotics you can decline if you want to.

I said yes because with my first my water broke and I started pushing 10 hours later. I took time to pack up and drove the hour there and arrived 6cm dilated. This time I'll head right there as my bags are fully packed

I would say not necessarily since you have like 24 hours to deliver before they strongly recommend c-section (and no baths for same reason - infection). But with group b strep you have to get on antibiotics. In that case I would go right away
